MiEN Company Employee Spotlight: Jonathan Gossom, Regional Director

At the MiEN Company, our mission is to create innovative, functional, and flexible furniture solutions for evolving learning spaces. We take pride in the dedicated individuals who make our vision a reality. Today, we’re highlighting Jonathan Gossom, MiEN’s Regional Director overseeing Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, and West Virginia. Jonathan is passionate about creating dynamic educational environments and has been a valuable member of the MiEN team since October 2019.

A graduate of Indiana University, Jonathan holds a bachelor’s degree in general studies with a minor in Business Supervision. He is not only a dedicated employee, but also an active member of the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE). By staying engaged with organizations like A4LE, Jonathan ensures that he is always at the forefront of innovative educational solutions.

One of Jonathan’s favorite experiences at MiEN has been his involvement in the transformation of The Ignite Institute. This building was originally a facility used to crash test Toyota vehicles but has since been converted into a STEM/STEAM-based high school, serving students from three different area school systems. For Jonathan, this project was particularly gratifying because he had the opportunity to witness the positive impact on students every time his team visited. Additionally, he found it rewarding to reconfigure the The Ignite Institute and use MiEN’s furniture in different ways within this dynamic learning environment.

In his role at MiEN, Jonathan draws inspiration from his colleague and in-house designer, Ryanne. Her keen eye for designing innovative layouts and making finish selections empowers Jonathan to engage clients in fresh and exciting ways. Jonathan deeply appreciates Ryanne’s ability to challenge the status quo and create dynamic learning spaces that captivate students and educators alike.

Jonathan is not only inspired by his MiEN colleagues, but also by the architectural firms in his region that continually push the envelope with new ideas to enhance the educational experience. These innovative approaches ensure that students and staff remain excited to step through the school doors every morning.

Jonathan’s favorite MiEN products include the SHARE table with a metal edge, as well as the entire Chameleon lounge series. These products exemplify the adaptability and functionality that are at the core of MiEN’s philosophy.

Outside of work, Jonathan loves to fish––anywhere and anytime he can. His favorite sports to watch are his children’s, who play soccer and field hockey. Additionally, he’s a fan of EPL soccer and IU Basketball. Jonathan’s life is further enriched by his faithful companion, a chocolate lab named Oak, who is always by his side.
