MiEN Company Employee Spotlight: Eliza Jensen, Regional Account
Manager (WA, OR, AK, & Canada)

Eliza Jensen

At the MiEN Company, our mission is to create innovative, functional, and flexible furniture solutions for evolving learning environments. We are fortunate to have a team of dedicated individuals working hard every day to turn our vision into reality, positioning MiEN as a leader in learning space design.

Today, we’re highlighting Eliza Jensen, MiEN’s regional account manager overseeing Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Canada. Eliza is passionate about creating dynamic educational environments and has been an outstanding member of the MiEN team since December 2018.

Professional Background

A graduate of Western Michigan University (WMU), Eliza double majored in criminal justice and sociology with a minor in marketing. During her time at WMU, she interned with Court Appointed Special Advocates for children and volunteered at a local alternative learning middle school and a wrongful conviction program through the WMU-Cooley Law School Innocence Project. As a lifelong learner, Eliza is an active member of the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE), which enables her to stay at the forefront of current learning space trends.

Favorite MiEN Project

One of Eliza’s favorite projects at MiEN has been her involvement in designing the media center at Greenway Elementary School in Beaverton School District. Discussions about this project involved various individual opinions, which played an important part in shaping the final design. During the project, Eliza and her team encountered some obstacles, but they were able to collectively overcome these challenges to reach the finish line. Ultimately, the completion of this library was a truly rewarding experience.

Inspiration at MiEN

Eliza’s greatest inspiration comes from working closely with school staff. She finds it uplifting to hear the joy and enthusiasm they experience during the collaborative process of creating dynamic learning environments.

When working on a project, Eliza loves to incorporate MiEN’s Chameleon lounge series and FLEX soft seating series. Both of these soft seating lines are modular, flexible, and high-quality, so Eliza always feels confident about recommending these products to customers. Plus, students love them, making them the perfect addition to an engaging learning space.

Eliza Jensen Beyond the Office

Outside of work, Eliza keeps up with Michigan sports teams, including the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Lions. She really enjoyed watching the Lions’ record-setting run this season and is looking forward to watching them excel next season.

Eliza is an avid reader, taking her Kindle with her everywhere she travels. She is currently reading the “A Court of Thorns and Roses” book series, which she has really enjoyed. Next, she plans to read “The Empyrean” series.

While she doesn’t have any pets due to her frequent travels, Eliza is an animal lover, often visiting her brother’s dog Cosmo and her mother’s Brittanys, named Gamble and Banjo. She loves her family’s pets as her own, so much so that they often joke that the dogs are Eliza’s primary motivation to visit!

Eliza married her husband in June of 2023 in Arizona, surrounded by friends and family. For their honeymoon, they traveled to Curaçao this past November––an incredible place that Eliza hopes to return to one day. Eliza is currently in the final stages of obtaining permanent residency in Canada and looks forward to continuing to explore the breathtaking beauty that British Columbia has to offer!

Eliza Jensen’s dedication to cultivating strong partnerships and fostering innovation makes her a valuable member of the MiEN family. We are grateful to have her on our team, and we look forward to the continued positive impact she will contribute to our clients and projects in the future.
